Seven Seas Terms & Conditions for Cruise Booking & Participation

Booking, Confirmation, Payment and Inclusions

After you contact Seven Seas with an interest to make a booking, our team will start communication by e-mail to set up your trip and provide you with an itinerary, a cruise rate, and recommendations for your travel arrangements prior to and after the trip. Please note that your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your period of travel and have at least two empty pages within it for visa. You are required to have a return ticket, outbound from Indonesia, prior to entering Indonesia.

Cruise rates are published on the Seven Seas website, on a per person basis as well as for group charters. If you book as a party of 2, your room will be reserved for your party of 2 people only. If you are booking as a single traveller, you may be roomed with another person of the same gender. Upon your confirmation, you will receive an invoice for down payment of 30% of the cruise rate for your trip. This deposit is non-refundable. Bookings are confirmed after Seven Seas has received the deposit of 30% of the cruise fee as specified on your invoice. Unless paid within 10 days after receipt, Seven Seas will open up your reservation for other customers.

Payment must be done by wire transfer with details as provided on your invoice. All payments should be received by Seven Seas net of service and provider charges. Please ensure you select “payment of all charges” when completing your wire transfer. Final payment of the 70% balance must be done at least 3 months before your trip departure date. This final payment is also non-refundable. For short notice bookings made within 90 days before departure, the full amount of the cruise fee is due upon confirmation. If a trip participant cannot make the trip already booked, the booking can be transferred to another person up to 2 weeks before departure. Additional costs may apply to name changes for flights.

Your booking will include transfers to and from the vessel, on-board accommodation, all diving, beach visits, meals and snacks, coffee, tea and drinking water. Included in the diving are the services of an English-speaking cruise director, qualified dive guides, full dive tanks, weights and weight belts. You can rent dive or snorkeling gear and wet suits if needed. Please check out the prices for this on our website. The published cruise price does not include local flights or hotel accommodation. Seven Seas can arrange your domestic travel and accommodation at your request, and you will be invoiced for this separately. If you are booking via an agent, your payment method and all further enquiries with regard to your trip is through them.

As a result of unexpected increases in fuel prices, a fuel surcharge may be applied of no more than US$ 20.- per person per day, up to 30 days prior to departure. For optional extensive land excursions, additional charges may also apply. More details on inclusions and exclusions are published separately on the Seven Seas website. These inclusions and exclusions will apply to your trip unless otherwise agreed in writing by Seven Seas in your booking correspondence. One bottle of wine or spirits per passenger may be brought on board. Guests are expected to pay on board expenses (drinks, gear rental, etc.) in cash (US$, Euro, AUD or Indonesian Rupiah), with traveller’s cheques, or by credit card (Visa or Mastercard) at the end of their trip.

Trip Itineraries, Changes, The Diving, Certification and Insurance

The area of operations varies throughout the year for Seven Seas, with the goal of offering optimal conditions for every destination and season. If a charter is requested outside of the published schedule, a re-location fee may have to be charged on top of the published price for scheduled trips. The cost (per day) of a requested relocation is 50% of the daily rate for a full charter. The Seven Seas reserves the option to make unavoidable changes to itineraries including changes in departure dates or locations, due to unexpected weather, natural events, technical issues, political unrest or changes in domestic flight schedules. The Seven Seas team will communicate such issues in detail and provide acceptable and comfortable alternatives in full consultation with the guests. When a guest wants to leave the trip before its completion, or at an alternative location, Seven Seas will make every effort to facilitate return travel but all related costs will need to be covered by the guest.

Any number of dives that may be mentioned in your package is an estimate based on normal circumstances, and thus not a guarantee. Our normal schedule consists of 3 dives a day plus 1 night dive when possible. There will be one check out dive on arrival day, one dive on the penultimate day of the cruise, and no dive on the checkout day depending on location and logistics. We recommend that you bring your own personal dive equipment, including a wetsuit, mask, snorkel, regulator and gauges, BCD, dive computer, safety markers, torch, and fins. Dive equipment is available to rent if you request this at least 60 days prior to departure via the ‘online booking form’ that needs to be filled in by all guests. All diving undertaken with Seven Seas is No Decompression Diving. We do not allow any of our guests, regardless of certification level or experience, to complete decompression dives. This is for the safety of all guests and crew onboard. Disregarding these rules whilst onboard may result in being restricted from diving that day or for the rest of the trip.

We recommend that guests prepare sufficient insurance for emergencies and build flexibility in international and local travel itineraries. Please be advised that if guests choose not to carry travel insurance, the Seven Seas will not be held responsible for any unforeseen expenses caused by reasons beyond our control.

To minimize the risk of flight delays, schedule changes, or missed connections, we highly recommend that you consider arriving in Indonesia at least one night earlier before the start of the cruise and departing at least one day later after the cruise concludes, thus building in some flexibility to deal with flight delays, while also allowing the body to gas off after a solid period of diving. The Seven Seas will not be held responsible for any missed flights or other connections.

Guests planning to dive with Seven Seas are required to show valid certification from a recognized scuba diving agency such as SSI, CMAS, or PADI, and to carry valid diver insurance. Besides regular travel insurance, we highly recommend dive insurance offered by the Divers Alert Network (DAN), and the Seven Seas team will be able to assist you with obtaining this insurance before your trip. Information on individual diver insurance must be provided on the booking form used to confirm booking of the dive trip, together with passport information, contact details, dive rental requests, and special requests. Seven Seas assumes no responsibility for injury, death or damage to passengers, or for loss of property during the cruise if not directly involving its staff.

Each diver/snorkeler accepts responsibility to be capable of participating in scuba diving/snorkeling and fully accepts the associated risks. The Seven Seas team reserves the right, for safety reasons and at the discretion of the Cruise Director, to refuse access to one, several or all dives, if a diver does not have the necessary competence to participate safely. If you have any health problems, are on any form of medication, or have had any illness, injury, or operation that may affect you whilst diving, please let us know in advance. Failure to disclose such information may result in your insurance being invalid, or your trip being a non-diving experience. The Seven Seas business was developed with protection and conservation as its primary focus. This includes guests’ behaviour towards the reef and its inhabitants. We require all diving and snorkeling guests onboard to adhere to best practices in this respect.

Special Diets, Medication, Alcohol, Smoking and Drugs

Anyone with specific dietary requirements, including vegetarian or vegan diets, food intolerances, or allergies should advise us at least 60 days before the trip. Should you have any restrictions or requirements and not inform our booking office prior to your trip departure, it may be difficult or impossible to meet your requests on board.

Currents and winds may cause moderate movement of the vessel at times. You may want to bring motion sickness medication if you feel you will need it. The Seven Seas is equipped with advanced first aid kits onboard, including oxygen and an AED. The Seven Seas team are unable to accept any medication brought onboard for safe keeping, including those that require refrigeration. Should a guest have medication requiring temperature control, they will need to travel with a travelling cooling case or storage cooler with several blue ice packets. Our crew will be happy to store and recharge blue ice packets but are unable to accept possession of, or responsibility for the proper care and storage of medication. This should be kept in your cabin.

Whilst onboard the Seven Seas, alcoholic beverages are for sale from the bar. However, responsible consumption is the obligation of the individual. When guests decide to consume alcoholic beverages during any time of the day, the rest of this day will be a non-diving experience. If your guide decides that you are not fit to dive due to your alcohol consumption the night before, and you decide to contest this decision, it will be put towards the Cruise Director, discussed, and resolved. This decision is final. Likewise, as a customer, if you are not satisfied with the condition of our staff, please alert the Cruise Director. We have a strict no smoking policy inside any of the cabins as well as the restaurant. This is due to the health and safety of all guests and the boat. If you are a smoker, there is a dedicated smoking area outside on the deck, and this will be pointed out during the briefing on the first day.

Indonesia is very strict with regards to drug trafficking and possession. Offences such as drug trafficking have resulted in death penalties in the past. Indonesian authorities are ready to make an example of foreigners who possess and/or use illegal drugs in their jurisdiction. The Seven Seas operates a zero- tolerance policy towards banned narcotics onboard our vessel. Anyone caught attempting to smuggle drugs on board the Seven Seas will be refused boarding, and their trip cancelled without refund. People caught in possession or under the influence of narcotics during their time onboard will be handed over to the relevant authorities.

Claims, Complaints, Liability, Release and Assumption of Risk

If you wish to share observations, complaints or requests for reimbursement, you should contact us immediately or at least within 10 days from the return of your trip. All requests for reimbursement relating to services invoiced but not provided, will be studied in the presentation of documentation and additional information. In the case of litigation, the legal jurisdiction will be Indonesia. The Seven Seas cannot be held liable for and will not be responsible for personal injuries, property damage, or wrongful death that may occur during activities arranged, booked or performed by the Seven Seas.

Any intentional damage that occurs to any property belonging to the Seven Seas, is the whole responsibility of the person or persons, responsible for such damage. The cost of repair or replacement is dictated solely and reasonably by The Seven Seas. Any objections to the values, costs of repairs or replacement are exclusively contestable in an Indonesian court of law.

There are inherent risks associated with all activities offered by the Seven Seas, and those risks must be accepted by each individual guest. Scuba diving requires a certification from a recognised diving agency such as PADI or SSI. It is your responsibility to demonstrate that you are suitably qualified to participate in diving activities, and to provide proof of such qualification upon request, prior to you taking part. The Seven Seas is neither negligent nor liable if accidents happen as a result of acts or omissions of other third parties.

The Seven Seas does not recommend that you bring personal belongings of exceptional or sentimental value onboard during your trip. The Seven Seas and its staff will not be held responsible for the damage or loss of such items. The Seven Seas cannot be held liable for and will not be responsible for loss or damage of personal items such as dive equipment, camera and video equipment, strobes and other accessories, passports, flight tickets, etc.

Sole responsibility for handling, care, cleaning and maintenance of personal camera equipment, including camera bodies, lenses, memory cards, housings, strobes, lights or other photography or videography accessories, lies with guests. In asking the Seven Seas staff to assist with any of the aforementioned items, guests hereby personally assume all risks that may befall equipment whilst being assisted by the crew. This includes periods of required handling between the main vessel and the speed boats, handling between the speedboats to and from the water, prior and post to diving or snorkeling, and cleaning and storage whilst on board The Seven Seas. Camera dome covers provided by the manufacturer should be kept in place whenever the camera is not in use, especially during transporting to and from dive sites and when stowing cameras. The Seven Seas also recommends storing all camera equipment in a durable waterproof casing.
